This project was a competition submittal for the theoretical project component of the Seattle AIA Honor Awards.

Entitled  "Place of Remembrance," the project required the design of a public place embracing recognition of the homeless in the city of Seattle.

This solution, filled with metaphor, included an open-air pavilion with twenty "columns of support", each with an individual "word of light" cut through at the top.

The canted, sloping enclosure walls represent embrace, and the circular flow of water represents the circle of life.
